How to work virtually with your team: tools for remote meeting and collaboration Good news! E1T1 fits into your schedule and your team’s meeting needs. You can participate in our program in person, online or using a combination of both approaches.
Please note that due to COVID-19 all programs are currently online.
All of our curriculum and support resources are online.
If you wish to meet in person, you can coordinate with your team members and mentor(s) to find a mutually convenient meeting location, and schedule a day or time to meet.
To meet with your team members and/or your mentors online, you may find it helpful to use free online meeting tools such as Skype, WhatsApp, Zoom, Adobe Connect, and/or Google Hangouts. These tools offer video and audio calling capabilities so that you can see and chat with your teammates and mentors.
Aside from video and audio calling capabilities, Skype, Zoom, Adobe Connect, and Google Hangouts also allow you to share your computer screen, so that your teammates and/or mentor(s) may see what you are working on (like coding applications, developing your business plan, editing your pitch video, and more!)
You may also find it helpful to set up a WhatsApp group with your team to have a place to coordinate meeting times, share ideas, and send project files. To ensure everyone’s safety, be sure to keep your guardian and teacher included in all communications alongside your mentor!
Is Zoom free?
A Zoom Basic Plan, with full features and unlimited meetings, is free. The restriction is that the online meetings will be limited to 40 minutes at a time, but you can schedule two meetings back to back, as needed. Tip: If you use your personal meeting ID to create your meetings the meeting link will stay the same.
UPDATE: Due to the currently unfolding situation, Zoom is lifting time limits on Basic Plan meetings in certain affected regions. To learn more, or to request that your region be considered, please click here.
Is Adobe Connect free?
Until July 1st, 2020, Adobe will be offering 90 days of free access to Adobe Connect, for individuals and businesses who aren’t currently customers. The trial account will allow you to host up to 25 participants at a time.
